A wide view over the Muddus National Park.

< 1 Min.The tour starts in Luleå in the north of Sweden. During the tour we hike in the Muddus National Park, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Laponia. Three nights in huts or tents, no WiFi, no electricity, no running water. Instead, pure nature and outhouse toilets. Re-poaching - just the way I like it.

Nature seems wild and untouched in Muddus. But for many thousands of years the indigenous Sami people lived here as nomads and reindeer herders.

The water is clear, clean and drinkable. I take a ration from the Juniper.

The finished meat is packed into a loose flatbread and covered with blueberry and lingonberry yoghurt. What a delicacy!

Characteristic for the Muddus are its large old forest stands, especially spruce, pines and yellow birch.

My hiking companions Martin (Peru), Dale (Canada) and Gregory (France) make last jokes, before we get into our clammy sleeping bags.

Smooth as a mirror, free of mosquitoes, dead silent - this is how many Laponian lakes are in late September.
